TECA uses a blend of adopted curriculum and staff created projects, all conforming to the California State Standards. All students receive instruction in the areas of reading, language arts, writing, mathematics, science, history/social studies, visual arts, drama, dance, music, health and physical education.
Physical Education, Dance, Music and Art Daily
TECA has committed to maintaining enrichment activities to contribute to the overall development of each student. To meet that commitment, the school continues to employ full-time and credentialed teachers for dance, art, music, and physical education. All students take physical education daily and 3rd-4th graders are offered yoga, drama and Creative Engagement Program. TK-6 students rotate through daily instruction in art, drama, and music in multi-week sessions during the school year, and 7th-8th grade students choose electives from art, music and dance.
Spanish-English Dual Language Immersion Program
TECA offers a Dual Language Program in which curricular content is taught 50/50 in Spanish and English from Kindergarten-5th grade. Students will be given the opportunity to maintain their language learning through Spanish language learning projects through later years. As students progress they are offered continued instruction in Spanish and English through the language arts program, Spanish texts and novels for understanding of Spanish cultures, and special projects.
